How to write a legal assistant resume
As a paralegal, you support the lawyer in his daily work. For this purpose, you take on numerous tasks that arise in everyday work. These include, for example, making appointments with clients, drawing up documents, and various organizational activities. For your job, you need organizational talent and should be able to deal with people well. Because even though a large part of your work consists of office activities, you also have regular telephone and personal contact with clients.
How to create a paralegal resume
The training to become a paralegal takes three years. You can then work in law firms of various sizes. In your job as a legal assistant, writing correspondence is part of your daily work. So make sure that you can see that in your application. Because only if your documents are convincing in terms of both form and content, your employment will be considered.
Use not only your cover letter but also your resume to convince your future manager of your suitability. The necessary information includes your name, your address, and, of course, information about your training and your previous positions in your professional life. You should also consider existing additional qualifications and job-specific experience. This includes, for example, knowledge of the creation of files, billing, and office management.
What an entry-level attorney resume should contain
As you have no previous experience, other aspects should be highlighted, such as the training that shows what you have studied to be a lawyer. It is necessary to include the degree and the study center, also all additional training related to the position for which you are applying. In the case of languages, it is necessary to specify differently the level of speech, writing, and reading in each of the languages you include.
In turn, including stays abroad, either with scholarships or volunteer activities, it is convenient to include it, specifying the study center and the period, in the case of training scholarships. For internships abroad, it will be included in the professional experience section, along with the rest of the internships if they had been completed.
In addition to all of the above, in a resume without experience, it is highly recommended to include your job goals and interests, in this way the recruiter can evaluate the candidate’s committee.
